With PORTIOT we help you to monitor your doors, gates and bars with the help of small wireless and battery powered sensors.
Challenge or problem:
Every day, millions of doors and windows are opened and closed. In most cases these doors and windows do not require any monitoring. However, some are not intended to be opened during certain hours or should not be open for longer periods of time, for example, fire doors and electrical cabinet doors. Power-operated doors, for example, garage doors, might need service depending on the number of uses. Planning of service is possible when knowing the number of door openings and can be scheduled to avoid costly out-of-service incidents.
Solution:
PortIoT monitors the open/closed status of different types of door and windows This is accomplished with wireless sensors using IoT network technologies, and a cloud based IoT platform WebIoT PortIoT can be used for several applications, including: • Downtime Prevention via Predictive Maintenance Once the sensors are in place and the service interval information for a power operated door or window is set, WebIoT predicts when the door or window must be serviced based on how frequently it is used When a door or window is due for service, the user is informed via WebIoT • Risk Reduction of Hazardous Electrical Injuries When placing sensors properly inside, for example, electrical cabinets, the sensors can be used to monitor if a cabinet is opened inadvertently, and in worst case by unauthorized personnel WebIoT can be configured to send an alarm in case such an event occurs • Information About Door and Window Usage By monitoring the actual door and window usage, the usage data and statistics can be shared with other parties such as property owners, facility managers, and service companies
Result:
Quick and easy installed sensors without the need for electricians and cable wiring. The system is fully adapted for the IoT “Internet of Things” and is based on the LoRaWAN™ radio open standard. The star topology network consists of gateways (radio base station) that collect the signals from all measurement sensors with a range of up to 15km. All gateways are connected over the Internet to a central server that monitors and controls gateways, sensors and measurement data. The system has built-in encryption that guarantees security all the way from the sensor to data storage and analysis.

Device(s) Included in IoT Solution:
The H2OIoT solution is independent of sensor supplier and technology. The sensors measure water flow in pipes. Properties such as water volumes, water flow direction, and water flow rates are measured. Even low flow rates down to approximately 1 liter per hour are measured with high accuracy. iioote recommends several different sensors, if needed. If an already installed sensor is preferred for use, iioote can include that sensor in the solution
