Golf Green Irrigation Monitoring with LoRaWAN®

Through LoRaWAN® sensors placed on the golf course, in this case at greens, data that shows moisture content in the soil is collected and aligned with weather data to produce the need for irrigation in desired locations.

Challenge or problem: Knowing the soil moisture content of golf greens is key to keep them at optimal health. Due to varying properties of the soil, and other factors related to the position of the greens on the course, one cannot rely completely on weather data for decision making. Physical measurements of soil moisture content are time consuming and requires a certain expertise to execute properly.
Solution: Utilizing SensCap LoRaWAN Sensors to monitor the soil moisture content of the golf greens. With several years of battery service time and a quick and easy installation.
Result: Having a real-time view of the soil moisture content of the greens simplifies and optimizes the irrigation process. The greens can be kept at optimal health.
